The International Online Conference “Digital Education 2024” is organized by the Center for Educational Technologies Western Balkans in collaboration with partners for the fifth consecutive year.

We continue the tradition of gathering with the desire to exchange knowledge and experiences, to learn from examples of best practices, and to discover the most effective ways of connecting education and modern technologies.

Sanja Sajko

Position: Challenges of Collaborating with Parents in the Digital Age

Sanja Sajko is a preschool teacher with many years of experience working with young children at a kindergarten in Zagreb. Her daily practice is based on fostering children’s curiosity, creativity, and independence through play, exploration, and collaboration. She places special emphasis on creating a stimulating and safe environment where every child has the opportunity to develop their unique abilities and interests. Sanja actively uses digital tools in planning, documenting, and enhancing the educational process, believing that modern technology can be a valuable aid in early learning. She participates in numerous projects focused on innovation in education and the professional development of educators. Motivated by continuous learning, she keeps up with new pedagogical approaches that improve the quality of work with children. She believes that collaboration with parents and colleagues is key to building a community that supports the holistic development of each child.

Slađana Jović

Position: Digital Herbarium

Slađana Jović has been teaching for over 25 years and delivers chemistry lessons in English as part of a bilingual education program. She has experience working with children with developmental disabilities and special needs, as well as with gifted students. She has led various workshops on the use of digital innovations in teaching at STEM conferences in Brussels, Warsaw, Ljubljana, and Belgrade. Slađana is actively involved as a seminar leader in the “Schools for the 21st Century” project on behalf of the British Council in Serbia and serves as an external collaborator for the Institute for Evaluation in Belgrade. She has held the title of Educational Advisor since 2020.

Slavica Dražović Perošević

Position: Digital Tools for the Professional Development of Preschool Education Staff
Categories: 2025 - Early Childhood Education and Care

Slavica Dražović Perošević holds a master’s degree in preschool education and has ten years of experience working with preschool children. She has been pursuing studies in pedagogy since 2022, focusing on connecting theoretical knowledge with practical experience. She is particularly notable as the author of more than five research papers exploring the use of digital technologies in the professional development of educators and in work with children. She has translated this research into practice by designing and conducting the webinar “Digital Tools in the Professional Development of Preschool Staff,” aimed at enhancing colleagues’ professional skills and improving the quality of work in preschool institutions. Believing that digital technologies can enrich children’s play and learning experiences, she has developed various activities and games through which preschoolers acquire new knowledge in a creative and interactive way. Slavica has completed numerous trainings and actively participated in national and international professional gatherings for preschool educators. By combining research, practical work, and continuous professional development, she stands out as a professional contributing to the improvement of preschool education quality and promoting innovation in work with children and staff.

Snježana Marković-Zoraja is a biology and chemistry teacher, graduated from the Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb. She works as a biology and chemistry teacher at “Dubovac” Elementary School in Karlovac. She mentors students in national GLOBE chemistry competitions and is a speaker at national and international conferences. She serves as a coordinator or collaborator on various international projects, including ICSE and Erasmus.
