The International Online Conference “Digital Education 2024” is organized by the Center for Educational Technologies Western Balkans in collaboration with partners for the fifth consecutive year.

We continue the tradition of gathering with the desire to exchange knowledge and experiences, to learn from examples of best practices, and to discover the most effective ways of connecting education and modern technologies.

Zdravka Majkić

Position: From Curiosity to Knowledge: AI in the Service of Student Motivation

Zdravka Majkić is an English language teacher with many years of experience in both formal and non-formal education. In her school work, she collaborates with students of various ages and needs, including children following individualized education plans. Her professional focus is on inclusion, digitalization of education, and empowering students through innovative learning methods. She actively participates in international projects, particularly within the Erasmus+ program, where she conducts workshops and co-authors publications on inclusion, digital technologies, and interdisciplinary teaching approaches. She is the author and co-author of professional papers and teacher training seminars emphasizing the use of digital tools and artificial intelligence in education. Her professional interests include digital education, language teaching methodology, development of teaching resources, and supporting teachers in enhancing their professional competencies. At conferences and training sessions, she eagerly shares practical experiences and promotes the idea that technology should serve as a tool for creating creative, inclusive, and stimulating learning environments.

Željka Požgaj

Position: Digital Literacy of Early Childhood Educators – Challenges, Opportunities, and Dilemmas

Željka Požgaj holds a master’s degree in Early and Preschool Education and works as a preschool teacher-advisor. She has many years of practical experience in various professional roles. In her work, she fosters a culture of reflection, inquiry, and development, constantly re-examining and improving the educational process while actively implementing new pedagogical insights and tools, including digital technologies. As a licensed county-level disseminator for EU topics, she continuously participates in national and international projects (Erasmus+, eTwinning) as an author, trainer, and collaborator. Her main professional interests include digital literacy, interactive learning, project-based approaches, and the development of educators’ professional competencies. She regularly takes part in national and international professional and scientific conferences, where she presents examples of good practice and research in the field of early and preschool education. She also publishes professional and scientific papers on topics such as children’s and educators’ digital literacy, project-based learning, civic education, children’s rights, professional development, and the quality of educational practice.

Zvonimirka Jovičić

Zvonimirka Jovičić holds a master’s degree in the methodology of primary mathematics teaching and works as a primary school teacher at “Moša Pijade” Elementary School in Žagubica. She was awarded the title of Best Educator of Serbia in 2015 and participated in the Global Teacher Prize competition. Zvonimirka is the author of several teaching manuals and papers, as well as a recipient of numerous awards in educational competitions. She is a member of the Institute for Contemporary Education and a SonS Ambassador.
