About the Conference

The West Balkans Educational Technology Center is organizing the 6th annual Digital Education 2025 international conference on April 11th and 12th, 2025 in collaboration with our partners. We continue the tradition of gathering to exchange knowledge and experience, acquire examples of best practices, and discover the ways to best connect education and modern technology. 

Why Digital Education

By organizing the international conference Digital Education 2025, we aim to support employees in educational institutions and those active in the education sector to enhance their work through innovative and creative approaches using digital technologies.

Our goal with this event is to connect the worlds of technology and education to make the best use of the opportunities that new technologies offer in education. The program covers current topics in digital education, while also providing a glimpse into the future of the educational system and lessons learned from past experiences.

As we witness the rapid advancement of technology, especially the intensive application during the global health crisis, we wish to enable:

  • Participants to learn more about innovations, national guidelines and recommendations, examples of best practices, connect with colleagues from Serbia, the region, and the world, and empower them to integrate digital technologies into their daily teaching practices;
  • Speakers who successfully navigate the challenges of today’s circumstances and education in the digital age to share their knowledge and experiences;
  • Exhibitors the opportunity to virtually showcase their technological products and services and communicate directly with conference participants;
  • Partners to meet directly with employees in the educational system of Serbia and abroad and network with similar companies.

By connecting education and the ICT sector and enhancing our digital competencies, we provide children and young people with the appropriate preparation for their future digital work environments.

Conference Objectives

  • Development of a platform for knowledge exchange and networking among education professionals from Serbia, the region, and beyond.
  • Presentation of modern teaching methods and effective use of ICT tools that are transforming education.
  • Contribution to identifying key recommendations that guide future policy and best practices in the education sector.
  • Promotion of inclusivity and equitable participation of all stakeholders in education within the digital landscape.

The conference covers the topics of the use and application of information and communication technologies at all levels of education:

– in preschool education;
– in primary and secondary education;
– in higher education;
– in inclusive education.

Be a speaker at the Digital Education 2025 conference

The EdTech Center Western Balkans and the program partners of the conference invite you to be one of the speakers and share your knowledge and experience in the field of applying digital technologies in education at the Digital Education 2025 conference.

If you are employed in the education sector or engaged in research in the field of education and upbringing, developing educational technologies, the Digital Education 2025 conference is an opportunity for you to present your work, experience, ideas, and advice on the application and use of information and communication technologies to participants in the sectors of preschool, primary and secondary, higher, and inclusive education.

The deadline for speaker applications is March 10, 2025.

You can submit your work for one of the four levels of education or as a topic related to inclusive education. Below, you can read our suggestions for the conference program. If you have a proposal that is not listed, please contact our program team with your suggestions at hello@edtech.center.

1. PRESCHOOL EDUCATION

Application of digital technologies in:

  • Professional development of educators
  • Professional public engagement of educators
  • The documentation process
  • Supporting children’s learning through play, active participation in life-practical situations, and planned learning situations
  • Supporting families in developing a culture of using digital technologies for preschool-aged children.

2. PRIMARY AND SECONDARY EDUCATION – The Paradigmatic Change Introduced by Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Education

  • Integration of AI into teaching and learning processes in primary and secondary schools – examples of good practice;
  • Application of AI for student learning at home – examples of good practice;
  • Hybrid teaching as an ecosystem that enables responsible use of AI – examples of good practice.

3. HIGHER EDUCATION

  • Application of learning management systems
  • Hybrid teaching and learning;
  • Digital competencies of teachers;
  • Full integration of digital technologies for enhanced studies in higher education;
  • Virtual laboratories;
  • Application of artificial intelligence;
  • Unified digital university services;
  • Virtual mobility;
  • Digital transformation of universities (management and administration).

4. INCLUSIVE EDUCATION

  • Accessibility and equality in education (using appropriate technological solutions, professional development, selecting appropriate technology, applying assistive technologies to ensure equal participation of all in education);
  • Supporting learning and skill development with the help of educational technologies (distance education, hybrid teaching, self-directed learning, peer support, differentiated instruction…);
  • Adapting teaching and materials with the help of artificial intelligence;
  • Monitoring progress and evaluating students with the support of artificial intelligence.

Submission for Speakers

Registration

Participation in the conference is free, and access is provided via a link on our website within the event agenda.
The program will be conducted in both Serbian and English.

The conference is accredited and carries a total of 4 points over two days.

After the conference, every participant who has filled out the PARTICIPATION APPLICATION DURING THE CONFERENCE will receive a certificate of participation. This application serves to obtain information about the conference.
